The CRE Invites International Academic Dr. Mu-Ming Chien to Newcastle

The Centre of Research Excellence in Transforming Gut Health is very excited to welcome visiting international academic, Dr. Mu-Ming Chien, later this year. Dr Chien is a paediatric gastroenterologist based in Taiwan with five years of clinical experience, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate with research interests in disorders of gut-brain interaction and infant nutrition.
Dr. Mu-Ming Chien has contributed to several studies in paediatric gastroenterology; including a nationwide survey examining complementary food introduction practices in Taiwan from 2013 to 2016, a 13-year single-center study investigating Clostridium difficile infection incidence in paediatric patients with and without inflammatory bowel diseases, and research into duodenal eosinophilia as a potential cause of functional abdominal pain in children.
His project aims are to develop and validate diagnostic tests for Functional Dyspepsia (FD), and to evaluate antibiotic treatment efficacy for FD. He will be contributing to the Research Team alongside other projects that align with his research interests.
We look forward to welcoming Dr Chien to the Centre of Research Excellence in Transforming Gut Health, and to supporting him in achieving his project aims.
