On the 18th November, our team will be participating in Australian Gastrointestinal Research Alliance (AGIRA) Day, detailing our current studies and progress in research.
The meeting will discuss clinical projects, as well as feature presentations from our researchers on their areas of study – CRE-TGH researcher Dr Kerith Duncanson will discuss “Can dietary intake predict food frequency and avoidance in IBS?”.
This meeting will also provide the valuable opportunity for fellow researchers and collaborators from varied institutes to present their current research and studies, as well as detail current clinical trials in various areas of gastrointestinal research, from Crohn’s disease to disorders of the gut brain interaction (DGBIs).
The aim of AGIRA is to bring together expertise through regular meetings and events, secure funding for research projects, conduct rigorous clinical research in basic science, and recruit sufficient patient numbers for robust clinical studies and trials.
We look forward to an informative and invaluable day of digestive research discussion.

See the PDF agenda for the meeting here.
The Australian Gastrointestinal Research Alliance (AGIRA), led by Laureate Professor Nick Talley (Newcastle) and Professor Gerald Holtmann (Brisbane), is a coalition of researchers specialising in gastrointestinal (GI) diseases. The Alliance brings together experts in clinical medicine, gastroenterology, mucosal immunology, translational science, pathology, imaging, psychology, and epidemiology, with a focus on various aspects of GI disease in Australia.
