The Centre for Research Excellence in Transforming Gut Health aims to build research capacity and promote opportunities through an annual Pilot Grant Scheme. The grants are aimed at expanding novel data and innovative hypotheses to the point where they will be competitive for national funding schemes such as NHMRC ideas grants or ARC Discovery projects.
Recently our 2025 CRE Pilot Grants have been awarded, and we are very excited to announce our recipients;
-
Kai Lim (UQ) – Metabolomic signatures of the duodenal mucosa associated microbiota in Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) and its associated Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
-
Emily Hoedt (UON) – Unravelling gluten’s hidden impact in functional dyspepsia: the microbiome’s role
-
Stella Maris Egboh (UON) – Investigating the salivary microbiome as a possible biomarker for disorders of gut brain interaction.
Congratulations to these recipients, and we look forward to seeing the outcomes of your research.
